What is a Fit Mamma?

‘Fit Mamma’ is my enduring term for women and young girls whether they are mothers, nurturers or just caregivers, to recognise our important and vital but often under-valued role as caregivers in society, often taken for granted. Mamma it’s time for you to pour into your own self-care cup, let the cup overflow so you can serve others with your overfill! We need to become mentally as well as physically ‘fit’ in order to survive the many life stressors, multiple roles and tasks for both yourself and for the people you care for.

Why Fit Mammas BoxFit?

Fit Mammas BoxFit is an empowering way to get fit as it uses a variety of exercises which not only strengthen your body, but your mind and spirit through its endurance and holistic  life/body conditioning (aka Mind Warrior Training) . 

 

It is also a great space for women who are constantly juggling different roles, tasks and other obligations to gain a time where it is all about them, their fitness and wellbeing.

 

A place where they can release stress, have fun, get fit and feel supported by other women.

 

What’s so special about my BoxFit?

Okay so there are many BoxFit classes you can attend, by why I branded this one, is because of the words of encouragement from several students who talked about how much it had helped their life holistically not just with fitness.  Plus my personal approach is based on my background (a Counsellor & Wellbeing Therapist, Researcher, Muay Thai Kick Boxing, Yoga) and my wellbeing ethos and busy lifestyle as a 40+ mum, with 2 children, so juggling many hats!!  So believe me when I say I understand the struggle and understand what you need to facilitate a well-rounded approach to health and wellbeing in an easy, convenient and digestible form, especially for women just like me!

 

What does the training actually involve?

BoxFit combines aerobic exercises with non-contact boxing, plus I throw in a few kicks, knees and elbows (a girl’s best friend). It’s an excellent way to get fit, release stress, tone, gain confidence, strength, flexibility and lose pounds!  IWeek 2 - 6April_1n the classes you are guaranteed to receive a fusion of fun, hardcore training, a fit body & mind!  There is also an option to some light play (sparring), the ladies even the ones who resist usually love this.

Rule of Fit Mammas BoxFit

There are NO ‘cant’s’. It might be new, challenging, unfamiliar or beyond your comfort zone but the first step is to try, therefore eliminate the urge to say ‘I can’t’ from your vocabulary.

In fact, every utterance of ‘can’t’ before you try receives a penalty of £1 donated to a female centred charity! Read Don’t Let Cant Stop Your Progress if you’re struggling.
