#RandomMusings – Digital Diet

Okay, so its been a hot minute since I’ve blogged, like many, I’ve been mad busy, adjusting, homeschooling, working from home, cooking, cleaning, juggling, everyday, plus some, motherly grinds, trying to look good & keep sane!  So this lock-downtime has been both a blessing and made me cray cray at times. On reflection I have really enjoyed re-connecting with my children, and with myself, spent silly money on food, food and more food, learned the art of zoom (even hosted a few events), trained differently than usual, tried to boost and stay on top of my diet, although I think I am now a full fledged alcoholic! (Everyone has their vice). So also as part of protecting my children’s and my mental wellbeing, (come on..I do practice some of what I preach) I have consciously restricted the amount of news pumped into the home, especially the TV since the whole c-pandemic started.  Although most of the information has still filtered through via watsapp and online, infact I am still very up-to-date plus added several Netflix overdoses! Talk about #TrappedintheDigitalGrid #WhichPillwasItRedorBlue

So this morning, I decided to turn the TV on and watch BBC Breakfast, something which used to be part of my pre-c breakfast routine before my #digitaldiet.

Only to digest first, that the government has now changed their mind re school returning before September…
Then a direct message from PM saying ‘Black Lives Matter’ but…’full force of law’ in the same sentence…then a rapper who I believe was supposed to be ‘repping’ black people saying something.. that I am still trying to work out!
Then we moved to Priti Patel talking about how her ‘childhood experiences’ impacted her (cough), then with a side eye and lots of shade, saying, something like however she won’t be schooled…. by opposition that there is evidence of systematic racism… (insert any Meme you want)
Then an interview with my fav kween singer/presenter/mother Jamalia discussing racism, schooling and education, where she mentioned that because she had been stopped in her car by police so many times, she decided to change it, for the BBC interviewer to ask what car did you buy? Huh!  J said I don’t think that’s the important point… the presenter said ‘yes Jamalia I think it is!”.
To the last news item, before I switched the thing off, that newly released figures from the National Office of Statistics report’s there have been 46k+ deaths from c-virus up until May 29th.
All of this, consumed on every level, in the same show, within 15 minutes, before 9am!!! So energy depleting, not even my Powergreen chlorophyll smoothie can help!
Yesterday, I started my morning with a little meds, stretches & a 8 min vid on personal development. What a difference a day makes! How do you break your fast?!
Be mindful about what you consume physically, mentally & spiritually. #IsAllSharingCaring #NegativeDistractions
