Well today is the day and so far I feel exactly the frikkin same as yesterday! Gonna break the day down in stages, this is the first part.
Part 1
Woke up to my son, I mean I was woken up by 11 year son singing Happy birthday. After I was having the best sleep, having only just woken up 20mins before to collect my 17mth old daughter from her cot and put her in my bed.
Mixed emotions.
So after I told him fuck off, no just joking , honey can you come back later. I tried to go back asleep but 5mins later my mobile was ringing it was my sister. I ignored it (sorry sis). Now I’m forty I definitely need beauty sleep! Unfortunately by now sleep was abandoned and had left. So I reluctantly woke up only to feel a spot throbbing on my cheek (I came on yesterday night) and looked at my reflection and I noticed I also had red eye!!!
I say this like it was drama but it really wasn’t, I’m just so happy to be 40, I just cant believe it, even with a spot and red eye.
To my excitement my son Reece had hidden my presents in the front room but proceeded to tell me where they were all hidden. I never did like hide n seek.
Here they are…. how sweet £8 from Poundland he told me 🙂 my sweetie,
he doesn’t know yet that just isn’t cool. But I love them all. Although he maybe hinting…2 shower gels, foot scourer, nail varnish…
I’m just sitting writing this blog after finishing this lovely breakkie, feeling good 🙂
So the only things planned today is to meet my dad for lunch – something that is an unexpected but pleasant surprise and also a couple people around for dinner later. Nothing extravagant but hopefully heartfelt.
I’ll let you know how I’m feeling later, depending on how many Happy Birthday’s are posted on my timeline!
Part 2
Well my lunch with my dad was lovely, after trying to go for Ethopian, we ended up going for Thai food (my fav) and it was lush. What was lovely was us just leisurely walking around which gave us the opportunity to catch up, and me to probe him about some of his childhood memories. I learnt alot which was nice.
Part 3
The evening was topped off with a few friends who came bearing gifts but not just presents, their presence was greatly appreciated. Some of these people are not childhood friends but they have entered my life at the right time with the right energy. There was a lovely atmosphere.
Although, I drank so much wine!!! I have training tomorrow and despite the water I have drunk I know I will suffer but it was worth it. Lol (I think)
Just writing this has made me continue smiling. It was my birthday, I didn’t cry but if I did it would be from happiness and contentment. I appreciate and feel grateful for everything that has come my way.
Rock on 40!
